What PLEXAR Guide is
PLEXAR Guide is a live video conversation with an AI that has read your Plexality profile. It explains your personality results. It is an AI, not a person, and no one is watching your call. It is a guide, not a therapist, and it does not diagnose or treat anything.
Your Guide tells you it is an AI at the start of every session, and again every three hours if a conversation ever runs that long. Ask it at any time and it will say so plainly.
PLEXAR Guide is for adults only: you must be 18 or older to use it. If you are under 18 and struggling, please call or text 988 or talk to an adult you trust.
What we watch for
Every time you speak, our system checks your words for signs of suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or intent to harm someone else. The check runs on every turn of the conversation, before the AI sees what you said.
It is automated detection that we test and update. It can miss things, and it can sometimes respond when you didn’t mean it that way. As a second layer, the AI itself is instructed to stop and share the same crisis lines if you mention suicide, self-harm, wanting to die, hurting someone, or being in danger.
What happens next
When the check finds one of these signs, the AI is not asked to reply at all. Your Guide stops the personality conversation and says a fixed message, written by our team and the same every time:
I'm really glad you told me. What you're describing is more than I can help with as a guide, and you deserve support from a real person right now. If you are in the US, please call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. It is free and open all day and night. In the UK or Ireland you can call Samaritans on 116 123. Anywhere else, findahelpline dot com lists free lines in your country, or call your local emergency number. You don't have to carry this alone. I'm still here if you want to keep talking.
- It responds calmly and without judgment, and points you to people who can help right now.
- It will not give information about ways to hurt yourself, and it will not encourage or validate self-harm.
- It will not carry on with personality guidance as if nothing happened. If you want to keep talking, it stays with you.
What it does not do
PLEXAR Guide does not call emergency services, your contacts, or anyone else, and no human is watching your call live. If you need help, please reach out yourself using the numbers at the top of this page.
If your camera is on
Your Guide may notice that you seem upset and gently check in with you. It never tells you what you are feeling, and the crisis response is based on what you say, never on your face alone.
What we keep
We keep only a count and timestamp each time a safety message is shown, so we can improve this protocol and report totals as the law requires. We don’t keep the content of these moments unless you have chosen to save transcripts, and we never include your identity in these reports.
We don’t record video or audio. Your call is processed live by our partners: Tavus runs the Guide’s face and voice, and Google generates its replies. Tavus’s terms let it use call data to maintain and improve its services; we ask Tavus to delete each conversation when the call ends. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your sessions
Written recaps and transcripts are saved only if you turn that on. You can delete any session’s recap and transcript at any time, and deleting your Plexality account deletes all of them. To ask about your data, email privacy@plexality.com.
How we keep this working
We review this protocol at least every six months and whenever we change the AI, using evidence-based suicide-prevention guidance, including the 988 Lifeline’s safe-messaging practices. When the protocol changes, this page changes with it.
